General note

Research notes and clippings on the railroad that connected Canaan, Conn., with Bridgeport, Conn. in the late 19th century. Criticism of safety by early passengers, attempts to upgrade the line, including restoring some railroad stations in disrepair. However, the line failed to make money to satisfy stockholders and was placed in receivership in 1892. stations in disrepair.
