Dear Wife
this is a fine morning with the sun shining brightly and as warm as a fine May day in Connecticut I was in hopes that we should have had some letters from home before this but none have arrived
My dear Wife I try to pass the time as contentedly as possible but still it is quite a long time to look forward to, 5 months! I hope to feel that is has passed pleasantly. My dear I feel that there is no place like home and wifsy. I feel that there is no one but you that can give me the satisfaction that loved society can give. My dear there is no use in talking nor is there any use in fretting I must wait patiently the lapse of time and strive for a contented mind. I think that I shall be better contented when I can receive some letters from you. I have one or 2 letters that I received from you at Camp Buckingham and I take pleasure in reading them over once in awhile. Hoping I shall have the pleasure in reading many of your letters fresh from home I subscribe myself your loving Husband.
