General

The first folders mostly concern Mr. Smedley inquiring about jobs having just passed the bar. In folder 3, there is correspondence with the Republican party; Smedley was advising them, unofficially, with strategies to compare Hoover to Roosevelt. Smedley wanted to compare Roosevelt's time on the job as governor of NY and Hoover as president; Smedley pointed to Roosevelt's disability and his time spent at Hot Springs.
