Project Acorn was a greening of WestConn project conceived by the all-volunteer Center for Urban Studies and supported by the college administration, Alumni Association, and the midtown dorm council. The project called for planting shade trees, evergreens, flowering trees and flower, and installing brick patios, flagstone paths, outside seating arrangements, additional stairs, pathways and ramps around the Ruth A. Haas Library.
