The bust of Hippocrates was donated to WCSU during the administration of Dr. James R. Roach. The bust was received by Roach wit hthe Third Annual Paideia Service Award from the Hellenic Society. Roach was presented with the award and bust for the University's support of Greek study. The event was held in HArtford on March 25, 2003 to mark Greek Independence Day.
The bust was created for the Pegasus Company by Nicolas Sevcosticles. The bust was presumably cast from bondd alabaster and appears to be loosely based o na statue of Hippocrates in Larissa, Greece.
