These items belonged to John B. Hermansader, an artist, designer and framer from West Redding, CT who is best known for his cover paintings for Jazz and Blues records in the 1940s and 50s. The original provenance of these engravings and prints is unkownn, but at least one is marked to have once belonged to East Lane Antiques of Darien, CT. Many of the items are signed by the artist and some are signed by the subject. These items were held by Robert Alberetti of the WCSU Department of Art until that departments relocation to the West Side Campus.
