Biography

Hofmann, Kitzla Domenge De (1924-1987) Born in Mexico, Kitzia Domenge De Hofmann was initially the student and then the wife of the sculptor, Herbert Hofmann-Ysenbourg.

Hofmann specialized in the art of stained glass; her finest effort culminated in the panels she designed for the chapel of the Misioneros del Espiritu Santu in the convent of El Atillo in Coyoacan, Mexico. This masterwork was commissioned by the architect, Enrique de Ia Mora y Palomar; the panels are situated behind the altar in such positions as to evoke a "jubilation of colors" and form in movement.

Hofman created many other works in sacred and secular places in Monterrey, Guadalajara, and Cuernavaca. She died in 1987 in the city of her birth.
