She attended Franklin Academy in Prattsburgh New York, Ingham College at Leroy N>Y., then the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. She met her husband, Albert J. Potter, at the University. He was also a member of the class of 1880 .. She later attended Columbia University and received an M. A. degree.
