Whereas: The Order of United American Mechanics has again been called to lay away in the tomb one of its most earnest and faithful members, and our ranks again broken, be it therefore resolved: That in the death of Frederick A. Patchen of Pahquioque council No. 9 O.U.A.M., this council has suffered an irreparable loss. Although a member of the council only, without official title, he was deeply absorbed in its principles and when health permitted was always found in the council chamber. His heart was always open to his calling and his generosity was beyond his [abilits] True to every principle of an American citizen loyal to the Constitution of the United States and charitable to a fault, he died as he lived, and his best end was one of peace , and in his last struggle so often remarked, "I am so tired" and longed for the end to come that he might rest from his labors. Therefore be it resolved: That this can not condole with the widow and family of the deceased at this time of their sever bereavement and commend them to Him who careth for the widowed and the afflicted, and hope that their trust in an Allwise Being may be to them comfort in the hour of trial and be it farther resolved: that the charter of this council be draped for the period of thirty days, and these resolutions be spread upon the records and a copy presented to the widow of the deceased and printed in the Danbury News,
