        Burrows notifies Catlin that he met with William Grimes in New Haven and is willing to accept a payment of $300 followed by an additional sum of $200, at which time he will give Grimes his "discharge papers." He gives instructions for payment and correspondence to be sent through William H. Thompson. This letter is written on the back of the letter sent from Abel Catlin to Joseph Burrows.

              The Elijah Boardman Papers (2012-07-0) consist of an initial donation of 97 volumes; (2012-14-0) Day Book No. 26; (2013-126-0) 22 additional bound volumes and three record storage cartons of Boardman, Lane, Ruggles, Schroeder, Whiting, and Wright family papers including bills and receipts in wrappers and family correspondence; and (2015-21-0) 33 Boardman letters purchased by the Litchfield Historical Society.

              Account of Notes Given Up, 1821-1829 Four-flap enclosure 58

              Bound volume containing 52 pages of entries including entries for promissory notes, endorsements, interest, and payments to Elijah Boardman. Many entries include the initials of Boardman's sons, George Sherman Boardman and William Whiting Boardman as agents of the transactions. The last few pages were entered after Boardman's death, presumably by one of his sons. Six notes on loose pages formerly inserted in the volume have been removed for separate storage.
