In the 1950s, Brady, an employee of what was then the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad (commonly referred to as the New Haven) and is now part of Amtrak, developed an interest in the Shepaug railroad branch. He acquired original New Haven records that provide detailed documentation of the crossings, bridges, and abutting structures. Records also document original rights of way and the New Haven's unsuccessful and successful petitions to abandon the line in the 1930s and 1940s. In 1973, Brady used these documents to write a description of the Shepaug branch, two copies of which are in the collection. There are also photographs, generally from the 1920s, of railroad crossings and structures.

Elijah Adams, Esq. in Fishkill, New York writes to Asa Bacon, Esq. in Litchfield about a meeting at Col. Benjamin Tallmadge's house. Provides recollections about a business arrangement involving Judge Reeve, Uriel Holmes, Frederick Wolcott, Benjamin Tallmadge Ezekiel Lewis, John Landon, Aaron Smith and Julius Deming. Gives an account of attempts to collect a debt from Aaron Smith.

The Elisha Marsh School Book collection (2011-44-0) contains math problems and notes. The book contains various rules of mathematics and also math problems done by the student. The book is not dated.

Ella Louisa Fowler friendship album

A collection of photographs, including scenes of Litchfield after a fire and interior of Graniss and Elmore store. Ganung and Elmore, general merchandise and grocery firm of Litchfield, Connecticut, was founded by George S. Elmore (1856-1904) and C. M. Ganung in 1880 with stock purchased from a bankrupt company. In 1882, Mr. Ganung sold his interest in the store to Westoen G. Granniss (1855-1940) of Litchfield, Connecticut, and the store was renamed Granniss and Elmore. The firm dealt in general merchandise such as groceries, dry goods, dishes, crockery, carpets, window shades, screens, linoleum, and wallpaper. The firm's motto was "Everything guaranteed as represented."
