Files contain a large assortment of materials including individual newspaper clippings relating to productions by Shepard, whole issues of trade magazines (e.g. Billboard, Cash Box), programs from live performances, occasional poster or publicity materials for productions Shepard was involved with, and much more.

Files contain business correspondence (on CBS or RCA letterhead) as well as personal correspondence, including greeting cards and friendly letters. Some letters contain information relevant to recording projects, and may correspond to files in the Projects Series.
