Two of the bookplates are mounted on an advertisement from Dodd, Mead and Company, Stationery Department. In addition to Spenceley's design, the pamphlet also includes a reproduction of one of the earliest known bookplates, that of Hildebrand Brandenburg (circa 1470-1480).
