This subseries contains materials relating to select projects Lieberson either oversaw or participated in, between 1948 and 1978. Documents include correspondence, research sources, and other materials pertaining to Columbia's production and release of particular recordings. Included are recording projects from the "Legacy" series: "I Can Hear it Now" (1948), "The Union" and "The Confederacy" (1956), as well as recordings of Lieberson's String Quartet and Piano Pieces. The files here do not necessarily contain all available documentation of these projects, in which case the researcher is advised to consult related personal correspondence files, as well.
