Marian Anderson recieved many honors and awards throughout her life; the NAACP Springarn Medal, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a Congressional Gold Medal, and the Eleanor Roosevelt Human Rights Award, to name a few.

She recieved 24 honorary degrees from various higher education institutes, such as Harvard, Princetone, Temple, Fordham, Michigan State, and Fairfield University. She was also inducted into the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in New Orleans.
