Alice is perhaps the most indicative piece of Hofmann-Ysenbourg's ability to evoke the subtly and gracefulness of the human form in his distinctive Bauhaus-influenced incorporation of simple geometric shapes without elaborate decoration or details. Alice has no articulated features on their face, yet has expression. They are elongated and reduced down to an almost stick figure simplicity, yet the gracefulness of the figure is unmistakeable.
