My dear my visit has done me much good I only wish that it was possible for me to honorably stay at home altogether but I must be with my condition for the next 6-7 months I am in hopes that it will quickly pass away and that I shall be spared toc come back again. Most of the boys have come skeddaddling I ???? we shall find it more severe when we get down into active service I understand that [General? probably James ed.] Hagan is talking quite strongly with Capt. Jenkins but there no truth in what he said about the Capt. he is very ???? to all for anything that I have seen.
Goodbye my darling and continue to love me so that I can have that consolation in my absence
