Images captured of the Charles Augustus Federer's (1880-1966) 1935 mural in the old Danbury Library's children's room (now the Danbury Music Center). Images were made in conjunction with captioning that Herb Janick was commissioned to write.

A September 18, 1935 article in the Danbury News-Times states that artist Charles Federer of Bethel offered to brighten and beautify the room with murals. His offer was accepted by the Library's trustees. The finished panels took a year for Federer to complete and it was assumed in the article that Federer received in the thousands of dollars for his work. ln addition to the mural, Federer also designed the room that houses the mural. The Library's 1935 refurbishment corresponded to the Library's receipt of a Federal Emergency Relief Administration grant, which was part of President Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal.
