Long Ridge Historical District - Thomas Maitland Cleland house

In 1914 Marrietta J. Tibbits, one of the founding members of the Long Ridge Women's Club, purchased the land and buildings on this property. She sold the property to Thomas Maitland. Cleland in 1926. The current house is the third to be build on the property. It was built in 1929 for Cleland, an illustrator, artist , and book designer, who lived here until his death in 1964. The house is a rambling Colonial Revival style.
