Abstract:

Picture removed from frame revealing notes under the frame. Summary: Officer seated with plumed hat. Hat has crossed swords with a 7 at the axis. He has a square U.S. Eagle belt buckle with a belt over a sash. Stoll was mustered out a captain in July 1865. He enlisted in September of 1861 into the 7th Illinois Volunteer Cavalry at Red Bud, Illinois and was promoted to the rank of quartermaster sergeant. He was promoted to 1st Lt. May 28, 1862. He filed for a pension in May 1886 as an invalid.
