The first floor of the main building for the Danbury Normal School included a gymnasium and an oak paneled entry for students entering the front door.  A 1950s era renovation covered up most of the woodwork and a drop ceiling was installed at Old Main's entry way.  A more recent renovation now more closely resembles the original decor.
