Jorge Espinosa
Espinosa's "Captured Atom" shows a turn from the 1960s era experiments in form to a more dreamy formlessness. This piece was purchased by the WCSC Art department in the 1970s. Espinosa was born in Mexico City in 1942 and studied under the direction of maestro Miguel Angel Oropeza. He originated a technique he calls "PlasticOleo" and his Mexican landscape paintings utilize a technique combining the spatula and brush.
