In February of 1873, Halcyon listed his properties for sale. He took out ads in the Brewster Standard and Danbury News-Times.

Beautiful Residence and Farm For Sale!

The property of Halcyon G. Bailey, in the parish of Ridgebury, Fairfield county, Connecticut, consisting of hte following described property:

The homestead is situated about one quarter of a mile south of the Ridgebury Church, Store and Post-office, and contains 26 acres of land, with a large and handsome house, beautiful yard, ever-green trees, and fruit trees; also, Barn, Carriage House and out-buildings, with a spring of water never known to be dry. Also, about thirty apple trees of choice kinds. This land is fenced into six lots, with stone, and free from stones in the land. Is bounded north and east by the land of Elias Palmer; south by the land of Smith Keeler, and west by highway.

Also, one piece of land known as the Sherwood Farm, containing about 43 acres, well fenced, nearly all in meadow and pasture land, and has a never-failing spring of water. Bounded east by the highway; south by the land of Allen Rundle; west by the land of W.H.I. Howe and highway, and north by the land of G.V.R.Hunt.

Also, 17 acres of woodland in Bogus. Bounded north by land of Sidney St. John, east by land of Lucius Boughton; south by the old road or land, and west by the land of Edmund Reynolds--making a farm of eighty-six acres in all.

The property is located five milews west of Danbury, on the line of the N.Y., Housatonic and Northern Railway.

Price -- Thirteen Thousand Dollars for all.
