Order to Sheriff to publish notice of petition (April 23, 1908)
To the Sheriff of the County of Fairfield, his Deputy, or either Constable of the Town of Danbury, within said county,
GREETING:
By Authority of the state of Connecticut, you are hereby commanded to summon, by publication of the order of notice hereto
attached, all persons who may have an interest in the subject matter of this complaint to appear before the SUPERIOR COURT to be holden within and for the County of Fairfield on the first Tuesday of MAY 1908, then and there to answer unto ANNIE K. BAILEY, of said Danbury, in a civil action wherein the plaintiff complains and says:
- The plaintiff resides in Danbury, Fairfield County, Connecticut.
- Her name is Annie Keeler Bailey.
- She is the daughter of Halcyon G. Bailey and Emily Keeler Bailey, both of whom are now deceased.
- Her said parents were divorced over thirty years ago, upon the petition of her mother, the said Emily K. Bailey, by a decree of the Superior Court far said Fairfield County.
- By said decree, the name of the said Emily K. Bailey was changed to Emily Keeler, and she was awarded the custody of the plaintiff herein, who was then a minor.
- The plaintiff continuously thereafter resided in said Danbury with her mother, the said Emily Keeler until the death of the latter, on February 21, 1907.
- The said Halcyon G. Bailey, the father of the plaintiff, resided in the State of New York from the time of said divorce until his death on February 17, 1905, and no intercourse of any kind was maintained by the plaintiff and her mother, with him.
- She desires, on account of the foregoing facts, to procure from the Court a judgment changing her name to Annie Keeler.
- No person will be injuriously affected by said change.
The plaintiff petitions the court that an order be made changing the name of the plaintiff to Annie Keeler.
Robert S. Alexander, of said Danbury, is recognized. in $50. to prosecute, etc.
Of this writ, with your doings thereon, make due return.

ORDER OF NOTICE.

SS. Danbury, April 23, A. D., 1908
Upon the complaint of the said Annie K. Bailey, praying for reasons therein set forth, for a change of name, returnable to the Superior Court, in and :for Fairfield county, on the first Tuesday of May, 1908. Therefore,
ORDERED, That notice of the pendency of said complaint be given by publishing this order in the Danbury Evening News, a newspaper printed in Danbury, Connecticut, once on or before the 23rd day of April, A. D., 1908.

ANNIE K. BAILEY'S of DANBURY, CONNECTICUT PETITION FOR CHANGE OF NAME.
Superior Court, Fairfield County, May 15th, 1908
JUDGMENT.
This petition, by writ dated April 23, 1908, and complaint claiming a change of name as on file, came to this Court on the first Tuesday of May, 1908, and thence by continuance to the present date, when the plaintiff appeared to prosecute said complaint, but no person appeared in opposition thereto.
The Court finds that said complaint and writ have been duly served, pursuant to an order of notice made thereon by the assistant clerk of this Court, as appears by the officer's return thereon endorsed.
The Court, having heard the plaintiff, finds the allegations in said complaint to be proved and true.
The Court further finds that the plaintiff is entitled to change her name.
Whereupon it is adjudged that the name of the plaintiff is hereby changed to that of Annie Keeler, by which name she shall hereafter be known and called.
