Ebenezer Hutchings forecloses on Halcyon
April 3, 1878
This is to certify that a Mortgage for a certain tract of Land with the Buildings theron standing situated in the Town of Ridgefield, Fairfield County Connecticut in the District of Ridgebury at Crow Hill so called containing about twenty six acres Bounded North and East by Elias S Palmers land and West by Highway also one other tract of Land also in the said town & district at Bogus so called containing about fourteen Acres bounded North by Sidney St John East by Lucius H Boughton South by an old Road or Lane and West by Edmond Reynolds land, also another tract of Land in the said town and District known as the Sherwood Farm containing about Forty three Acres Bounded North by land of George V R Hunt, East by Highway, South by Allen Rundle West by land of William N. S. Howe and Highway, has been foreclosed in the Superior Court for Faifield County at the September term 1877. said Mortgage was given and executed by Halcyon G Bailey of the City of Brooklyn County of Kings State of New York to Ehenezer J Hutchings of said Brooklyn to secure the said Hutchings the payment of a certain sum of money to wit three thousand dollars and interest on the same at the rate of seven per cent due from the said Bailey to the said Hutchings and dated May 8th 1873 and Recorded in 26 pages 614, 615, 616, 617, 618 of the Ridgefield Land Records.
And that by a Decree of the Superior Court for Fairfield County passed at the September Term 1877 thereof the title to the above described premises became absolute in the said Ebenezer Hutchings on the 26 day of March 1878.
