Annie Keeler's Medical Advice
Dr. Annie Keeler was a frequent writer to the medical press and had all sorts of advice to give.
Dr. Keeler wrote several articles for the journal Medical Brief. She embraces a whole-body, holistic approach to health. She was also a fan of oil of hyssop.
In "Causes" (March 1905) she suggests that micro-organisms ("infusoria") are responsible for hay fever and influenza. In "Cerebro Spinal Meningitis" she rejects the germ theory of disease
The disease in truth expresses "the reaction of the organism, not the action of the so-called germ." I am convinced the cause is within and not by any means essentially without, and investigation should be made on these lines. The germ theory on all occasions is a fallacy, The true cause lies in another direction.
but it unclear if she meant this for all diseases, or merely in the case of "cerebro spinal meningitis".
