Abstract: Robert William Chapman was a well-known editor of Samuel Jackson and Jane Austen. He served for one year in the military, and then he stayed in Oxford until he died. He published many of Jane Austen's works, including Jane Austen’s letters to her sister Cassandra in 1932.; Wikipedia article; Archives assistant note: In a letter written on February 4th 1813, Jane Austen tells her sister that she views her book Pride and Prejudice as too light and bright and sparkling; however, I do not agree with her view on her work.
