The Alfred Stieglitz/Georgia O'Keeffe Archive contains correspondence files, manuscripts, documentary ephemera, photographs, art and realia related to the lives and careers of Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O'Keeffe, his second wife, and to other members of Stieglitz's family.The first subgroup, Alfred Stieglitz Papers, consists of material documenting Stieglitz's life's work: correspondence with artists, photographers, and writers; manuscripts by Stieglitz and others describing the art movements of the early twentieth century; scrapbooks; an autograph collection; prints of photographs by Stieglitz and other noted photographers; awards given to Stieglitz for his work; several works of art such as four poster portraits by Charles Demuth; and notebooks assembled posthumously to record the contents of Stieglitz's extensive art collection before it was dispersed following his death.The second subgroup, Georgia O'Keeffe Papers, consists primarily of correspondence from O'Keeffe's friends and family along with a number of fan letters, subject files, and business correspondence addressing rights and reproductions of O'Keeffe's works. This subgroup also includes files of documentary ephemera and a number of awards and medals given to O'Keeffe.The third subgroup, Stieglitz Family Papers, consists of correspondence, documentary ephemera, and drawings from Stieglitz family members, principally Alfred's parents, Edward and Hedwig.

The Alfred Stieglitz/Georgia O'Keeffe Collection contains items acquired by the Beinecke Library after 1980. Previous accessions are part of the Alfred Stieglitz/Georgia O'Keeffe Archive [YCAL MSS 85]

The Angna Enters and Louis Kalonyme papers contain artwork, correspondence, and printed material documenting the life and work of artist Angna Enters and her husband, art critic and journalist, Louis Kalonyme. The collection features over 70 pieces of original artwork by Enters dating chiefly from the 1930s and 1940s. Correspondents include fellow artists and friends John Marin, Alfred Stieglitz, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Eugene and Carlotta O'Neill. Other materials include photographs of Kalonyme, O'Keeffe, Stieglitz, and Eugene and Carlotta O'Neill, and a scrapbook and clippings of Kalonyme's writings for newspapers.

The Arnold Ronnebeck papers contain correspondence, manuscripts, artwork, photographs, and printed and other materials documenting the life and career of the Prussian-born artist. Correspondence in the collection includes letters from other artists, family, and organizations, and includes letters from well-known modernist-era artists, such as George Grosz, Marsden Hartley, Wassily Kandinsky, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Alfred Stieglitz. Manuscripts include notebooks, journals Ronnebeck kept while in Paris from 1910 to 1912, and loose notes. Original artwork in the collection includes lithographs and busts of Hartley. Photographs include images of Ronnebeck's sculptures and the artwork of others, images of the artist at work and with other people, and images from the war years, 1914 through 1917, such as urban and rural landscapes, architectural sites of interest, and soldiers. Printed materials include art catalogs, ephemera, and clippings, and other materials include biographical information, personal papers, and childhood sketchbooks.

The papers contain correspondence, writings, literary manuscripts, notes, subject files, scrapbooks, and printed material documenting Dorothy Norman's activities, writings, and publications including the journal she founded and edited, . The papers also document Norman's relationships with the photographer Alfred Stieglitz and his circle of artists and writers, in particular her involvement with his gallery An American Place, with her husband Edward A. Norman and their families, and with prominent Indians including Ananda K. Coomaraswamy and Indira Gandhi.

The Flora Stieglitz Straus Collection of Stieglitz Family Papers consists of letters, photographs, printed materials, journals, and a scrapbook documenting the lives of Alfred Stieglitz's extended family. Included in the first series, Stieglitz Family Papers, are letters between family members, a draft of an autobiography by Edward J. Stieglitz, and biographical information about Julius Stieglitz. Series II, Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O'Keeffe, contains a number of letters from Stieglitz and Georgia O'Keeffe to Elizabeth Stieglitz Davidson and Donald Douglas Davidson, and to Flora Stieglitz Straus. Series III, Leopold Stieglitz, consists of material concerning his life, including several journals from the 1880s. Series IV, Addition (1999) contains a group of lantern slides that copy earlier family photographs. Series V, Addition (2000) adds several letters, photographs and family items. Series VI, Addition (2005) contains five autochromes made by Nathan Straus Jr., with their diascope viewers; portraits include Flora Stieglitz Straus, her husband Hugh Grant Straus, and her maternal grandmother Jacobina Staerk Stieffel. Series VII, Addition (2008) includes correspondence, financial papers, photographs, diaries, and albums that document the friends, travels, and activities of the Stieglitz family in Europe and New York City, as well as at their summer home, Oaklawn, just north of the village of Lake George, New York.

The papers contain correspondence, diaries, writings, materials related to the production of Four Saints in Three Acts and the paintings of Florine Stettheimer, and miscellaneous papers.

This collection consists chiefly of papers and photographs created and collected by George H. Seeley that document his photographic career, as well as his later life and family spanning from 1900 to 1975. The collection includes glass plate negatives used by Seeley to create his professional photographs. Photographic prints in the collection are predominantly work prints created by Seeley. There are also film negatives that document his later life and family, as well as the landscape around Stockbridge and at Cape Cod.

The Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas Papers contain manuscripts of writings, letters, clippings, photographs, artworks, and personal papers relating to the life and work of Gertrude Stein and her companion, Alice B. Toklas, and to Gertrude's brother, Leo Stein, an artist and writer. As well as holding the bulk of Stein's literary output (often described as "experimental" or "cubist" writing), the materials document Stein and Toklas' involvement with the literary and art scene in Paris during the first half of the 20th century.Series I, Writings, contains holograph and typescript drafts of the majority of Gertrude Stein's writings, including "The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas," "The Making of Americans" (complete with a quantity of notes, or "studies"), "Tender Buttons" and a group of unpublished fragments and carnets, notebooks kept by Stein with preliminary drafts of writings.Series II, Correspondence of Gertrude Stein, contains letters sent from a wide variety of Stein's friends: artists such as Georges Bracque, Jean Cocteau, and Pablo Picasso; writers such as Sherwood Anderson, Ernest Hemingway, and Thornton Wilder; and acquaintances through many years such as Mildred Aldrich, Etta and Claribel Cone, Robert Haas, Mabel Dodge Luhan,Sir Francis Rose, Virgil Thomson, and Carl Van Vechten. Series III, Third Party Letters and Series IV, Alice B. Toklas Correspondence, contain letters from many of the same people, the latter group containing Alice Toklas's correspondence following Gertrude Stein's death.Series V, Personal Papers, and Series VI, Clippings, gather together various personal affects of Stein and Toklas as well as documentation of Stein's life as reported during her lifetime.Series VII, Photographs, show Stein from early childhood through 1946, the year she died. Prints showing Alice Toklas, various friends, artworks, and locales are included in this series, as are several volumes of prints made by Carl Van Vechten.Series VIII and IX contain numerous artworks and objects given by Stein and Toklas. Included here are a painting by Pablo Picasso and a sketch by Henri Matisse.

The Hapgood Family Papers contain correspondence; manuscripts of books, plays, poems, articles, book reviews, essays, and short stories; plus business papers, diaries, maps, photographs, subject files, writings of others, and miscellaneous papers which document the lives and careers of various members of the Hapgood family and to a lesser extent the Boyce family, most notably Hutchins Hapgood and Neith Boyce Hapgood.
