Andre Schenker was born in 1897 and received his education at the Connecticut Agricultural College (UConn) and Yale University. He was a professor of history at UConn from 1928 - 1965.

The Charles G. Hall Papers contain correspondence, diaries, family papers, scrapbooks, photographs, publications, and other papers, relating to Hall's personal life, student days at Connecticut Agricultural College, activities as doorkeeper of Connecticut House of Representatives, state politics, events at University of Connecticut, and family affairs.

Eleanor H. Little was born in Media, Pennsylvania. She lived in Pennsylvania until entering Wellesley College, where she received a B.A. in History in 1908. In 1931, she became Secretary for the Connecticut Unemployment Commission. By 1933, Little was responsible for administering the entire statewide relief program until 1937. Little was elected representative to the General Assembly in 1941 and again in 1945, where she served on two committees as chair: the Personnel Committee and the Public Welfare and Humane Institutions Committee.

Francis T. Maloney was a United States Senator from 1934 until his death in 1945. Previous to that, he was a Congressman and, before that, Mayor of his hometown, Meriden, Connecticut. During World War I he was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve Force.

The Smith family of Canterbury, CT, owned and operated a number of mills in the section of Hanover from the mid-eighteenth century until the 1940s. The original site on Little River, north of Hanover and Woodchuck Hill Roads, became the home to five successive generations of Smiths.
