The object of the Society was to bring together in social relations, women of New England ancestry to engage in educational, patriotic, civic, and philanthropic work. The Newberry family collection consists of correspondence of Emma Wickham Newberry (Mrs. Samuel Newberry) of South Windsor, CT, from 1863 and 1879. Correspondance includes letters from her brother-in-law A. E. Newberry written in 1863. Other correspondence is from her sisters Maria Brewer and Jane Smith and leters to and from her mother. Also in the collection is a probate certificate of descent dated July 10, 1932 pertaining to the estate of Priscilla Newberry.
