The Eero Saarinen collection includes drawings, photographs, correspondence, writings, clippings, and audio-visual material relating to Saarinen's professional work as an architect, as well as a small amount of personal material created by himself and his wife, Aline Saarinen. A small amount of material in this collection documents the work of his father, architect Eliel Saarinen.

The Marjorie Content Papers and Photographs include correspondence, writings, printed material, and photographs that document the personal and professional life of American photographer Marjorie Content.

The papers consist of pamphlets and other printed matter with some letters, diaries and manuscripts relating to naval affairs. The largest block of material concerns World War I, particularly the questions of the German naval mutiny of 1917, the surrender of the German fleet in November 1918, and the scuttling of its most important units at Scapa Flow in 1919. Also in the collection are circa two thousand postcards showing World War I naval scenes and photographs of American transports.

In 1957, the Connecticut Federation of Labor and the Connecticut State Industrial Union Council (CSIUC) merged to form the Connecticut State Labor Council, AFL-CIO, generally referred to today as the Connecticut State AFL-CIO. The stated purpose of the new organization was to provide a more effective means of promoting and coordinating the principles and objectives of the AFL-CIO in Connecticut.

Correspondence, writings, notes, course-related material, and collected material document the life and work of George Lindbeck, noted Yale theologian. The collection is a rich source of information about Lutheran-Roman Catholic dialogue and Vatican II. Lindbeck, the Pitkin Professor Emeritus of Historical Theology, served on the faculty of Yale Divinity School and the Yale University Religious Studies department after graduating from the Divinity School in 1946 and receiving his Ph.D. from Yale in 1955. He is the author of six books, including The Nature of Doctrine: Religion and Theology in a Postliberal Age and Challenge and Response: A Protestant Perspective on the Vatican Council. Lindbeck's many awards include several honorary degrees and a Guggenheim Fellowship. He was a delegate to the second Vatican Council in Rome in the 1960s and has long been active in ecumenical dialogue, particularly between the Lutheran and Roman Catholic Churches. Lindbeck's "Report on Ecclesiastically Independent Theological Education" released by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1976 was also a notable contribution.

Includes papers relating to the Brown Company of Berlin, New Hampshire (manufacturer of paper products, chemicals, and other wood-using products), the American Forestry Association, New Hampshire Disaster Emergency Council, New Hampshire Forestry Commission, North East Forest Research Council, Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, Society of American Foresters, and the Timber Lands Mutual Insurance Company.

Oliver Reginald Tambo spent most of his life serving in the struggle against apartheid. During his years in the African National Congress (ANC), Oliver Tambo played a major role in the growth and development of the movement and its policies. He was among the generation of African nationalist leaders who emerged after the Second World War who were instrumental in the transformation of the ANC from a liberal-constitutionalist organisation into a radical national liberation movement.
