A number of the letters are from fellow ministers during the period Samuel and his family lived in Ohio and Illinois and concern such topics as spiritual matters, requests for columns for Christian publications, and hymns.His correspondents include J. Hammond Trumbull, P.T. Barnum, and L.W. Bacon. Henry Wolcott wrote to his parents and siblings as he traveled the country, 1859-1899. Henry would settle in Colorado where he was elected senator. William Wolcott was a minister and while on a trip to England in 1884 he wrote to his father detailing his experiences. His other correspondence is with friends. Samuel Adams Wolcott wrote to his parents and his brother William. Anna Wolcott, who founded The Miss Wolcott School for Girls in Denver, Colorado, and was a regent of the University of Colorado, wrote consistently to her brothers. The collection also includes sheet music written by Samuel for "Tents of Israel", Wolcott lineage papers, and photographs.

Correspondence dealing with relations with Native Americans, military, legal, political and religious matters; includes material concerning the Spanish ship case, diary of the siege of Louisbourg in 1745, and narrative of the troubles in the Second church in Windsor between 1735 and 1741; correspondents include Henry Wolcott, Oliver Wolcott, Sr., Sarah Chauncy and Matthew Allyn.

Collection consists of correspondence, chiefly to Jabez Huntington, by Jedediah and his four brothers, Andrew, Ebenezer, Joshua, and Zachariah.
