Stowe, who was a top level executive for the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions, the United Church Board for World Ministries, and the National Council of Church Division of Overseas Ministries. The collection includes extensive documentation of the history of the ABCFM and UCBWM that Stowe compiled in preparation for writing a history of the Boards.

The collection comprises records of the Greater New Haven Coalition for People, a grassroots organization that advocates for lower and middle income residents of New Haven, Connecticut. Materials include correspondence, financial and fundraising records, files on topics and events that the Coalition worked on, and posters and protest signs. Materials date from 1981 to 2014. Much of the collection concerns different issues the Coalition focused on, including the removal of bus stops from the City of New Haven, medical care for the low-income and uninsured in the local hospitals, conditions of public housing, and programs like the West Rock Youth Leadership Program and Tenants Against Drugs Dammit!

The first newspaper published in Waterbury, CT was The American on December 14, 1844. Since 1844 Waterbury has had a variety of professional and amateur newspapers. This collection is composed of both professional and amateur newspapers. While the archive does not have a complete run of any one newspaper – the collection has focused on specific events and time periods: the Fire of 1902, the Flood of 1955, and the nineteenth century as examples. The newspaper collection offers an interesting glimpse into both national and local events from the 1840s until today. The collection will have additional accruals in the future.
