The Albert Galloway Keller Papers contain the writings, correspondence, teaching materials, financial records, and memorabilia of Albert Galloway Keller. The vast majority of these materials document Keller's professional and personal life between 1900 and 1956. Virtually no materials exist from his childhood. The Keller papers also include the records of the William Graham Sumner Club (1914-1949), an organization to which Keller was deeply committed.

The collection contains oral history transcripts recorded on reel to reel or cassette tapes. The media recordings, for the majority of the collection, are not available for research. The interviews were conducted by various individuals from the center, including Mortin Tenzer, Bruce Stave (Directors of the Center), Katya Williamson, Allice Hoffman, Jane Allison, Michael Chaney, and Leslie Frank.

The collection consists of correspondence, writings, notebooks, photographs, artwork, objects, audiovisual materials, and electronic media the document the life and work of Ira Cohen. The papers include materials relating to other writers, artists, and groups including Ronnie Burk, Louise Landes-Levi, the Living Theatre, Gerard Malanga, Petra Vogt, Tom Weigel, various Beat generation writers, and others. Artwork includes mail art, paintings, drawings, screen prints, and posters. Objects include stamps, Cohen's typewriter, masks, and plaster and papier mache casts. Casts include life masks made by Cohen of friends including Allen Ginsberg and Julian Beck and a cast of William S. Burroughs' hand.

The collection consists of correspondence, writings, personal and financial papers, subject files, photographs, printed materials, and audiovisual materials. Bruce Nugent's correspondence consists of family, professional, and personal correspondence, including letters from homosexual love interests. Writings include poetry, short non-fiction pieces, and various fiction pieces, including the novel Gentleman Jigger. Writings by others include drafts and papers relating to Gay Rebel of the Harlem Renaissance by Thomas H. Wirth. Photographs consist of portraits and snapshots of Nugent, his love interests, friends, and family. The bulk of the audiovisual materials consist of interviews with Nugent. Printed materials include books inscribed to Nugent as well as various clippings and ephemera.

The Osborn Manuscript Files contain single, unbound manuscripts and small groups of manuscripts acquired for the Osborn Collection which the Library has chosen to describe in finding-aid style lists rather than as discrete entries in Yale University Library's on-line public access catalog (ORBIS). The materials in the Osborn Manuscript Files include literary and historical manuscripts, individual and small groups of letters, and single documents, as well as some "Unprocessed" material such as engraved portraits and bibliographic information.

The records consist of the central administrative files of the Yale University Library, correspondence, memoranda, reports dealing with all aspects of library business and historical photographs from library events. Records for the earlier years appear to be part of a central filing system for the library, while those in later years primarily reflect the activities of the university librarian's office.

The Frederick and Rose Plaut Papers consist mainly of negatives, contact sheets, and enlargements of photographs taken by Frederick Plaut during his years as a recording engineer for Columbia Records. Over 35,000 negatives and 3,600 enlargements portray musicians, writers, actors, artists, and diplomats, both in candid studio shots and posed publicity photos. An additional 23,000 negatives and 2,000 enlargements depict travel and miscellaneous subjects. The Papers contain books, magazines, posters, and record jackets which reproduce Plaut's photographs. The Papers also house correspondence between the Plauts and various composers, including Francis Poulenc, Virgil Thomson, Ned Rorem, and Henri Sauguet. The Plauts' life and work are documented further by exhibit announcements, recital programs of Rose Plaut, and personal papers.

Paul Dukas' correspondence with Marguerite Hasselmans spans the years 1907 to 1933 and includes 86 autograph letters and 50 postcards adressed to Marguerite Hasselmans, signed with initials ("PD") or in full ("Paul Dukas"). The collection also includes three letters from Paul Dukas to Gabriel Fauré and contains 15 letters and postcards to Marguerite Hasselmans or her father Alphonse and her brother Louis, written by Paul Poujaud, Jules Massenet, Benjamin Godard, Pauline Viardot, Pierre Lalo and Camille Saint-Saëns.

The Yale Paul Bekker Papers were given by Sarah Bekker in memory of her husband, Konrad Bekker (1911-1981), Paul Bekker's eldest child. Konrad Bekker had left Germany in August 1933 to join his father in Italy and thereafter in France before moving to Switzerland to complete his doctorate in economics at the University of Basel. He joined his father in the United States in November 1936 at which time he was able to bring with him most of Bekker's papers and much of his library. In 1939 in order to finance the publication of his doctoral dissertation (a requirement for receiving his degree) Konrad Bekker was forced to sell selected items of Bekker's papers (principally letters from prominent musical personalities and a few manuscript scores) to the Library of Congress, while other libraries acquired a number of books and scores. Nevertheless, what remained, preserved in several dozen boxes, represented the bulk of Bekker's papers, including virtually all his family and business correspondence, as well as several hundred letters and additional items by correspondents represented in the Library of Congress collection. Unfortunately virtually all letters and documents relating to Bekker's life after 1933, including his years in Paris and New York have not survived, presumably destroyed by his widow, Margit Bekker Robert.

The Hartford City Parks Collection at the Hartford History Center documents the growth and extent of the city's pioneering efforts to create and develop municipal parks. Series I contains albums with newspaper clippings, primarily from Hartford papers. The correspondence and essays of the Park Commission, and Superintendents Theodore Wirth and George A. Parker, comprise approximately 12.5 linear feet. Additionally, the collection contains papers concerning Parker's participation in the Hartford Committee on the City Plan, its Juvenile Commission, and other organizations (city and nationwide) related to the parks movement and recreation for urban growth. This material, found in Series II, is arranged by subject, but has not been divided into subseries. The material in Series III, added to the finding aid in 2021, overlaps and complements Series II. As much as possible, Series III is subdivided by the content's creator. Visual materials include over 500 glass negative views of parks and streetscapes, Series IV, and a large collection of half-tone printing blocks make up Series V. Many of these blocks reference the park report, or other publication, they illustrated. A collection of colored lantern slides, as well as planting and nursery order lists, document roses planted at Elizabeth Park. Responsible for the city's cemeteries, the Park Commission's records include documentation of burial ground oversight, plot sales, and the erection of grave markers. In Series VI, Bound Volumes, financial records may be found, including salary information for all parks, and accounts from the Keney Park Trustees, as well as letterpress books kept by Theodore Wirth. Especially rich is the archive's collection of maps, blueprints and drawings of cemeteries, and park structures and parkways (actual and projected), which comprise Series VII. Over 150 of these have been inventoried. Please note that the maps do not have titles, simply descriptions.

Teale's papers include field notes and drafts for each of his books, early childhood writings, professional writings for magazines, newspapers and book reviews, correspondence- both personal and professional, personal and family documents, scrapbooks, and memorabilia, as well as his photographs (prints, negatives, and transparencies) and his personal library. There is also one box of original John Burroughs material Teale collected over the years.

The Tomie dePaola Collection contains Tomie's artwork, sketch books, drafts, studies and paintings from the beginning of his career through his college years and his long career as an author and illustrator. The Collection also contains a significant number of marketing items based on his artwork as well as many different editions from each book he wrote or illustrated, including foreign editions. Some of the languages represented are Portuguese, Swedish, Finnish, French Canadian, German, Afrikaans, and even Zulu. Original illustrations from books, as well as paintings and other art work spanning from his childhood years are included. The marketing items and realia consists of towels, porcelain jewelry containers, music boxes, paper goods (wrapping paper, cups plates), quilts from schools, and a large selection of Christmas tree ornaments designed by Tomie.

Poetry and personal papers of the American poet, art critic, teacher, editor and publisher Bill Berkson comprised of literary manuscripts, correspondence, drafts, notebooks, lecture notes, interviews, Big Sky Books and press records, photographs, audio recordings, broadsides, and rare publications.

The collection consists largely of Robert Hawley's personal papers and records with regard to the Oyez Press from 1963 to 1988. The largest portion of the collection deals with project records of Oyez productions, including manuscripts, galleys, proofs, and production-specific correspondence. Additional correspondence preserved by Hawley documents his relationships with poets such as William Everson, Mary Fabilli, and David Meltzer. The press correspondence also provides a wide range of perspectives on the San Francisco Poetry scene in the late 1960s and early 1970s -- Hawley preserved many mailings from other publishers and announcements of poetry readings. Additionally, the collection contains business records including sales ledgers and receipts for a number of years prior to Oyez turning over distribution to a third party. The collection further consists of some of Robert Hawley's personal papers and one box of wood block engravings used for various Oyez projects.

The papers document the career of William Sloane Coffin, Jr., best known as chaplain of Yale University, as senior minister of Riverside Church, and as a political activist. The collection consists of correspondence, topical files, writings, personal papers, audio recordings, videotapes, and other materials created and collected by Coffin. The collection includes ample documentation of the role Coffin played in social and political movements including civil rights, Vietnam War protests, amnesty for draft resisters, disarmament, and international relief work. The following specific groups and organizations are particularly well represented: Operation Crossroads Africa, Peace Corps, Americans For Re-Appraisal of Far Eastern Policy, and Clergy and Laity Concerned about Vietnam. The papers include many other files related to Coffin's involvement in Vietnam War protest and civil rights, particularly his organizing of northern students. Materials relating to Coffin's ministry as chaplain of Yale and as senior minister of Riverside Church, specifically many of his sermons, are also included. Speeches and other writings comprise another significant part of the collection and provide researchers with insight into Coffin's views on a variety of social, political, and religious themes. The collection also includes a small amount of personal and family papers.

The records consist of letterbooks, correspondence, gift accounts, financial papers, receipts, lists, and memoranda documenting the operations of the Yale University Press. Included are the files of John G. Ryden as director.

The records consist of correspondence, memoranda, and subject and administrative files documenting the activities of various deans and administrative personnel of the Yale School of Nursing. Topics include finance, faculty, admissions, committees, policy and curriculum, research and public service, national and international associations, visitors, and affiliated universities and hospitals. Included are the records of deans Annie Warburton Goodrich, Effie Taylor, Elizabeth Torrey, Margaret G. Arnstein, and Donna Diers.

The records include research applications; correspondence; guides; donor files; registration forms; files of Thomas Rossiter Barnum; master microforms of the Stimson Papers index and catalog; call slips; ofice of origin request forms; reprographics order forms; and other files concerning reference activities of the Department of Manuscripts and Archives at Yale University Library. The records include the correspondence of the curator of Yale Memorabilia (1907-1933).

The records consist of correspondence, budgets and appointments, course records, freshmen placement records, and student papers documenting the activities and operations of the Yale Department of Germanic Languages.

The records consist of production notebooks of third-year Yale School of Drama students with concentrations in stage management. The production notebooks are one of three components making up the students' theses.

The Henry Gilbert Papers contain manuscript and published music by Gilbert and others, correspondence, clippings, programs, scrapbooks, financial and legal items, musical games, writings by Gilbert and others, biographical material, photographs, and miscellaneous items. Their dates range from 1821 to 1980; most were created between the late nineteenth century and Gilbert's death in 1928.

Of most interest in the collection is the fairly complete file of sermons and addresses delivered during the period 1888 to 1921. These sermons, in conjunction with Beard's extensive subject file, provide a valuable record of the style and content of preaching of a successful Congregational minister during a time of liberal resurgence in American Protestantism. Beard came to the ministry from a brilliant undergraduate and graduate career at Yale. He was well equipped to grapple with the intellectual challenges facing liberal theologians of his times, such as historical criticism of the Bible, evolution, and the relationship between science and religion. During his seventeen years of ministry in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Beard was brought face to face with the urban problems of the Gilded Age. His sermons express concern with the issues of temperance, vice, housing and education. With the onset of the First World War, Beard participated in the prevailing surge of patriotism bolstered by theology. Regardless of the topic he addressed, Beard's views were informed by the spirit of confidence and hope typical of a pre-War civilization in which the ideals and patterns of American life were nearly equated with those of American Protestantism.

Topics include administration and finances; curriculum planning and programs; faculty appointments; fellowships; graduate student admissions; and the 1998 departmental reunion.

The records consist of correspondence, reports, minutes and agendas, programs, newsletters, news clippings, photographs and digital images, oral histories, exhibit records, and posters documenting the activities and programs of the Afro-American Cultural Center and African-Americans at Yale.

This collection of New York, New Haven Hartford Railroad records contains central administrative and financial records of the New Haven Railroad and approximately 300 predecessor and subsidiary companies. The records are dated from 1831 to 1980, with the bulk of material dated 1935 to 1968.

The Milbank Memorial Fund Records span the years 1898-1977 and consist of the minutes and other administrative records of the organization; historical material regarding the fund, and bibliographical papers for fund officers, and miscellaneous material regarding programs. General correspondence and office files were not preserved by the organization, and the manuscript group represents all of the fund's extant records through the early 1970's. The records are organized in three series: GENERAL PAPERS, BIOGRAPHICAL AND HISTORICAL RECORDS, and BELLEVUE-YORKVILLE PROJECT RECORDS.

In addition to the records of OPM and its predecessors, included here are records from various commissions and offices that are or have been under OPM for administrative purposes. These include: Governor's Council on Voluntary Action (eliminated in 1991); Blue Ribbon Commission on Housing; Energy Advisory Board; and Office of Family Support.

The collection contains correspondence, clippings, and photographic materials regarding Mikhailov's experiences in Soviet Labor camps in Northeast Siberia from 1980-1983. The newspaper and magazine clippings are mostly from 1987, which corresponded with an article in the New York Times regarding Mikhailov's photographs and labor camp experiences.

The records consist of administrative files documenting the operations of the Department of Manuscripts and Archives at Yale University Library.

Series 1. State Police Investigation Files, 1919-1998, contain records relating to specific cases under investigation by the State Police. Some of the landmark cases that are included in these files are: the Hartford Circus Fire, the Niles Street Hospital Fire, the Taborsky-Columbia Murder Case (Mad Dog Killers), and the State Leasing Probe. Also included are several files relating to other murder case investigations. The investigation files contain witness statements, investigating officer notes, background information, suspect files, photographs, and reports. Even after an official investigation has been closed, the investigation files may be updated with follow up reports, inquiries and records relating to subsequent re-examination of the original investigation, as is the case of the Hartford Circus Fire.

The records consist of administrative and subject files documenting Yale University's non-academic financial and administrative policies, planning, and procedures. Included are files documenting projects, budgets, investments, fund raising, real estate, benefactors, and labor relations.

The collection documents the career of Larry Kramer as a playwright and author, an advocate for gay rights, and an activist in the fight against AIDS. The collection consists of writings, including manuscripts and drafts of plays, books, screenplays, and articles; AIDS-related material; diaries; correspondence; photographs; printed material; audiovisual material; and other papers. There is also substantial material relating to the founding of Gay Men's Health Crisis and the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP) in particular, and to the AIDS movement in general.

The collection contains materials relevant to the production and sale of silk—administrative, financial, production and employee records, in addition to fabric samples, publications, reports and photographs.

The Barbara Hammer Papers, which span from 1920 to 2018, contain writings, images, research materials, project files, and documentation related to Hammer's films and artwork. The papers also contain personal and professional correspondence, clippings, ephemera, costumes, audiovisual materials, and electronic media related to her life and work.

The records of the Southern New England Telephone Company (SNET) reflect the long history of a pioneering and innovative telephone company. The collection consists of material dating from the formation of the New Haven District Telephone Company and the invention of the switchboard in 1878 to the merger of the Southern New England Telecommunications Corporation and SBC Communications Inc. in 1998. However, the bulk of the material predates the 1983 Bell System divestiture.

The records consist of posters, programs, brochures, videorecordings, and photographic images (print and digital) documenting events and exhibits sponsored by the Yale School of Architecture.

The Edwin Hale Abbot Family papers contain correspondence, letterpress copybooks, legal and financial documents, diaries, maps, blueprints, and photographs, the bulk of which documents the personal life, law and business careers of Edwin Hale Abbot.

Series 1: Job Files, 1985-2004 - Organized chronologically by job number (Boxes 1-14, oversized 1 and 2). Series contains: Correspondence, plans, proposals, shop drawings, sketches, construction schedules, certificates for payments, clippings, inspections, bids, and reports.

The collection consists of annual catalogs, addresses, lectures, and miscellaneous printed material documenting over 150 medical colleges and homeopathic, eclectic, and osteopathic schools in the United States from the early 1800s to the mid-1900s. The bulk of the materials date from the nineteenth century. Most institutions are documented with only a few items, but a few institutions are documented extensively, including the University College of Physicians, Albany Medical College, and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and the Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia. Howard University, a historically black college and university (HBCU), as well as a handful of women's medical colleges are also represented in the collection.

The records document the work of the Tercentennial Office. Included are the records of Janet Lindrer concerning planning of the tercentennial celebration, correspondence, subject files, video recordings, records of the Tercentennial Planning Committee, and the Tercentennial website. Also included is a poem by John Hollander, a speech by Robin Winks, printed material, news clippings, memorabilia commemorating Yale's 300th anniversary, and records for the Tercentennial celebration in Asia.

The records consist of subject and personnel files, including computer files, of the Program on Non-Profit Organizations (PONPO) at Yale. The records document all aspects of the program including administration, research, and finance.

The collection includes photographs, performance memorabilia, correspondence, videos and newsclippings from performances, tours, and other events by the Yale Concert Band, the Yale Jazz Ensemble and the Yale Precision Marching Band.

Project files, minutes, correspondence, and property records, documenting the work of the New Haven Redevelopment Agency, primarily from the 1950s to the 1980s.

Noriaki Tsuchimoto's papers related to Japanese films, especially the documentary genre and social issues in Japan and the world. Noriaki Tsuchimoto (1928-2008) was one of the most prominent documentary film directors in Japan. The collection consists of various types and formats including his diaries, correspondence, books, film scripts, and photographs.

The Sylvanus Dyer Locke Papers consist of correspondence, letterbooks, patents, and printed material which document the last twenty years of Sylvanus D. Locke's life in Hoosick Falls, New York, and relate primarily to his inventions, particularly his self-binding harvester and his detachable steel link belting. Correspondents include attorneys, patent examiners and solicitors, and other manufacturers of farm equipment and heavy machinery. Some material also concerns Sylvanus D. Locke, Jr. and the Locke Steel Chain Company of Bridgeport, Connecticut.

The Henry E. Sigerist Papers consist of eighteen feet of correspondence, notes, typescripts, photographs, memorabilia, and miscellaneous papers. They are organized in three series: CORRESPONDENCE, PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES, and BIOGRAPHICAL DATA AND MEMORABILIA. The range of dates is from 1897 to 1978, but letters spanning from 1913 to 1925 and from 1947 to 1957 comprise more than half the papers.
