A. B. Guthrie Jr. (1901-1991), Montana-born writer whose popular Western novels include The Big Sky (1947), The Way West(1949), and Fair Land, Fair Land (1982). His autobiography was published in 1965. In his later years Guthrie became an outspoken advocate of conservation in the West.

The Achilles Fang Papers document the professional and personal relationship between Achilles Fang and Ezra Pound. The papers consist of correspondence and writings, most of which date from between 1950 and 1954. The correspondence principally concerns Fang's efforts to assist Pound in the transliteration of Chinese characters and in the publication of his Confucian translations. Writings include galley proofs of and Fang's introduction to Pound's The Classic Anthology as Defined by Confucious. The bulk of the writings are drafts of Fang's doctoral dissertation, Material for the Study of Pound's Cantos.

The collection consists of writings, correspondence, and other papers broadly relating to Agnes Boulton. Writings include a typescript for Agnes Boulton's memoir about her marriage to Eugene O'Neill, Part of a Long Story (1958), and a partial typescript of Trouble in the Flesh (1959) by Max Wylie, as well as handwritten and typed notes (perhaps those of Boulton) for story and play ideas. Correspondence includes letters received by Agnes Boulton and extensive correspondence of the Clarence Gordon and other members of the Gordon family (whose connection to Boulton is unclear). Also included are photographs, several diaries and a rent book of E. C. Bundy, newspaper clippings, ephemera, books, and printed material.

The collection consists chiefly of letters from Gregory to de Lima, concerning their friendship; Gregory's writing and her life in Dorset and Devon; her interest in the New School for Social Research; and Randolph Silliman Bourne, Sigrid de Lima, the Powys family, and other literary friends. Other letters include correspondence between Gregory and Sigrid de Lima and Elizabeth Shepley Sergeant, and letters to Agnes de Lima from literary friends and publishers concerning Llewelyn Powys's letters and writings. Also present are essays by Gregory and Powys, and clippings, photographs, and other papers relating to Gregory and her friendship with de Lima.

The Aileen Pringle Papers consist of letters, photographs and personal papers relating to Pringle's career as a silent film actress and her relationship with H. L. Mencken.

The collection consists of correspondence, writings, photographs, audiovisual material, and printed material, documenting aspects of Alfred Corn's work as a poet and writer as well as his relationships with other poets and writers.

The Alice Brown Papers consist of drafts, correspondence, and printed material documenting the work of American poet, novelist, and dramatist, Alice Brown. The papers, which provide evidence of Brown's writing career and literary circle, are a window into the creative life of a New England woman writer at the turn of the twentieth century. Brown's correspondence with author Esther Willard Bates is of particular interest. Dating over a ten year period (1938-1948) the letters consist of Brown's correspondence to Bates and contain her reflections on literature, mutual friends, and general observations on her writing and life.

Correspondence of Allen Johnson concerning his editorship of the Chronicles of America Series, consisting of incoming typed and autograph letters, signed, and outgoing typescript carbons, 1916-1920. Correspondents include historians Max Ferrand, Yale University, and Nathaniel Stephenson, College of Charleston, and other authors of volumes in the Chronicles of America Series; United States Publishers' Association founders Robert Pollock Glasgow and Arthur H. Brook, Gerhard Richard Lomer, and other staff of the United States Publishers' Association; and George Parmly Day, president, and other staff of Yale University Press. Also present are memoranda and financial accounts concerning publication of the Chronicles of America Series; and correspondence about publication of Johnson's Stephen A. Douglas: A Study in American Politics (New York: The Macmillan Company, 1908), 1907-1916.

The collection consists chiefly of correspondence, with smaller amounts of diaries, writings, notebooks, artworks, photographs, and other personal papers. Also present are papers of others closely associated with Gregory, including papers of Llewelyn Powys; writings of John Cowper Powys and Edna St. Vincent Millay; and diaries of Gertrude Powys. Accompanying these is a small amount of correspondence and notes of Rosemary Manning, concerning Gregory's papers.

The papers feature correspondence and personal effects relating to author Edith Wharton, including over 130 letters to Bahlmann from Wharton, dating from Bahlmann's employment to the Wharton family in 1874, as Edith's German language tutor, to 1915. The letters document a significant, long-standing relationship and shed light on Wharton's personal and literary affairs. In addition to the Wharton correspondence, there are single and small groups of letters between Bahlmann and family members, friends, and acquaintances, including William Morton Fullerton and Henry James, and a small number of third-party letters. Bahlmann's personal effects include legal and financial documents, notebooks, and writings, as well as material relating to Wharton. Other materials relating most directly to Wharton include clippings, documents on her work during the war, photographs, and postcards. Photographs consist of studio portraits of people and images of Wharton's residences. There are photographs of Wharton, Bahlmann family members, and friends, including Mary Cadwalader Jones. Wharton residences include "Reef Point" in Bar Harbour, Maine and the estate ("The Mount") in Lenox, Massachusetts.
