Writes to Jacob Rutsen Van Rensselaer to acknowledge receipt of his letter. He has been authorized by his brother, Oliver Wolcott, to assure him that he has made no unfavorable representations of Van Rensselaer's character respecting the incorporation of the Bank of America.

Notes his efforts to provide his children with education and principles that would render them "happy & respectable." Describes his daughter's disposition and expresses his affection for John Jackson; invites his family to be present for the ceremony.
Copy of a letter sent to Zebedee Cook of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society thanking him for the certificate of membership, letter, and box containing grape vines which Wolcott will attempt to cultivate.
