The WWI series has graphic material such as recruiting advertisements and posters. Most of these are in English, with two being in French and Italian. A variety of pamphlets are present, including some cartoons and Red Cross material like medical manuals. Through the large representation of visual material, this series demonstrates the ways that the government and media communicated to the public about the war.

The WWII series presents a variety of ration materials, one of which is from Germany. Also of interest are a few Japanese propaganda leaflets. Additionally, the series contains a large set of oral histories from Waterbury residents in the form of audio and transcripts along with personal material. Bound volumes in the series include newspaper clippings and scrapbooks pertaining to Scovill, the American Brass Company, and Chase Brass and Copper Co., providing insight into civilian life and labor in the manufacturing sector during WWII.
