Five folders of loose papers dating from the late 18th century to the early 20th century. They consist of mostly financial records, sales and payments of goods, real estate transactions, promissory notes, etc. relating to Judson Stiles, Benjamin Stiles, David Stiles, Stiles & Co., William Mitchell, Benjamin Hurd, et al. Towns mentioned include Southbury, South Britain, Woodbury, Milford, Salisbury, et al. Included is a Woodbury record book from 1779 that primarily relates to sales of rum to many different men – possibly from a Revolutionary War unit or volunteers preparing to leave for the war. Includes names of some officers.
