Administrative and tax records for the town of Windsor.

The records consist of transcripts of witness testimony. Attorney General Francis A. Pallotti charged Connecticut State Highway Department Commissioner William J. Cox on February 4, 1942 for misconduct and material neglect of duty or incompetence in the conduct of office. Commissioner Cox was suspended with pay on February 5, 1942. The case focused on the commissioner's oversight of employees and the procedures used in bidding for highway projects. Governor Robert A. Hurley found Commissioner Cox had not committed misconduct or negligence in his official duties. Commissioner Cox was reinstated on July 27, 1942.

Subjects covered include adult literacy, bilingual education, higher education, school construction, school integration, school equalization, special education, teacher and school administrator shortage.

This subgroup is comprised of volumes of Engrossed Bills. Engrossed Bills are those legislative acts and resolutions that having been passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate are appropriately signed by the Engrossing Committee, Clerk of the Senate, President of the Senate, Clerk of the House, Speaker of the House, and the Governor.

The Connecticut Transportation Authority was established in 1963, per P.A. 639. In 1969 it merged into the new Department of Transportation, per P.A. 768, sec. 9, and was incorporated into the Bureau of Rail and Motor Carrier Services.

In 1895 the Fish Commissioners became the Commissioners of Fisheries and Game charged with "the supervision of hatcheries and retaining ponds, the introduction and distribution of such food fish and game as are adapted to the waters or lands of this State, and the enforcement of all laws relating to fish and game." The Commission became the State Board of Fisheries and Game in 1913.

The records consist of Department of Social Services welfare files, 1929-1945; and burial permits and transit [body removal] permits, 1914-1928 for the town of Manchester.
