These papers document the later part of Helen Morton's career, particularly her work with the University Christian Movement in New England. Born to a privileged New England family in 1898, Helen Morton spent her long life engaged in ecumenical religious and social work with a variety of U.S. and international organizations.

Correspondence, writings, subject files, and collected material document the life and work of Margaret Flory and the many organizations with which she was associated throughout her long career in missions and student work. Margaret Flory was an ecumenist, leader of student religious work, and mission executive in the Presbyterian Church (USA) from 1944-1980 who began and directed innovative missions programs including Junior Year Abroad, Frontier Internships in Mission, and Bi-National Service.

These papers document the work of various student Christian movements from the 1950s through the 1990s and the activities of the World Student Christian Federation Trustees, particularly in preparation for the WSCF Centennial and the Women's History Project. Ruth M. Harris was a leader in United Methodist and ecumenical student Christian work.

The Ruth Rouse papers, 1897-1957, consist of Rouse's personal accounts of her international work with the Student Volunteer Movement (SVM), World Student Christian Federation (WSCF), and the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA), as well as her research files on the history of global ecumenism.

The material in this collection consists of administrative and financial records of the WSCF U.S. Board of Trustees. The World Student Christian Federation was created in 1895 as an international student Christian movement which could encourage and coordinate the work of national student Christian movements. The WSCF has headquarters in Geneva, but maintained a U.S. Board of Trustees to guide policy and financial operations in North America.

This record group documents the operations of the North America Regional Office of the WSCF and the issues that were of concern to the Office. The North America Regional Office of the World Student Christian Federation existed from 1973 to 1988, then was reinstated in the early 2000s. National and local movements, especially in Canada, continued throughout the hiatus of the regional body. Its purpose is to coordinate ecumenical Christian student work in the United States and Canada.
