The 4-H Clubs of Connecticut originated in 1913 with the establishment of the first club in Mansfield, Connecticut. A part of the United States Department of Agriculture's Cooperative Extension System, 4-H clubs have aimed to educate Connecticut's youth in agriculture, home economics, and new technologies. The 4-H Clubs of Connecticut also strives to imbue its members with important life skills, building character through the teaching of a variety of practical skills. The records consist of the papers of Connecticut 4-H club leader Augustus Jackson Brundage, who helped expand the clubs in the state following World War I, as well as numerous club publications, photographs, scrapbooks, slides, film, and administrative records.

Collection includes poems written in response to the Persian Gulf War (1991), collected by Richard S. Emmet Aaron, a poetry bookstore owner in California whose nephew served in the U.S. Marines.

The collection contains 21 reels of microfilm containing newsclippings of Senator Ribicoff's Gubernatorial and Senate careers.

The books fall into three categories: farmers, storekeepers and businesses.

Thirteen large photographs of Cambodian and Vietnamese people. The individuals in the photographs have all been affected by the Vietnam War in some way. In addition to the Vietnam War, some of the individuals in the photographs from Cambodia were also affected by the Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot.

The collection consists operational and administrative records of the Aetna Insurance Company, specifically of periodicals, newspaper clippings, circular letters, directories, indexes, research files, management training manuals, records, reports, and press releases.

The collection contains records from the New England regional office of the AFL-CIO.

Established in 1912, the African National Congress was created to provide a political avenue for the struggle for equality of Blacks in South Africa. Working in exile from 1960 until 1990, members of the ANC established foreign offices to continue the political work necessary to end apartheid in South Africa. The governing party since 1994, the ANC has established its archives at the University of Fort Hare, an historically Black institution. In March 1999, the ANC and the University of Connecticut signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a partnership to foster training, assistance and cooperation.

One of the projects resulting from the collaboration between the University of Connecticut and the ANC was the ANC Oral History Project, which conducted and transcribed 133 oral histories of ANC leaders in South Africa between 2000 and 2006.
