The Zora Neale Hurston Collection contains Correspondence, Writings, including drafts of her autobiography, Dust Tracks on the Road, the novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God, and a play written in collaboration with Langston Hughes, "Mule Bone," as well as a study of Hurston written in 1972 by Robert Hemenway.

The Zion's Hill Cemetery Association Collection contains the records of the Zion's Hill Cemetery Association.

The collection consists of pamphlets, broadsides, and newspapers from organizations associated with the Zionist Revisionist movement, including Irgun Tsevai Leumi (Etsel) and Lohame Herut Yisrael (Lehi).

The Zionist Organization of America, founded in 1898, probably welcomed its Hartford chapter, known as the Hartford Zionist District, in 1917. Although the exact date is not recorded here, it is known that the Balfour Declaration prompted a group of Hartford businessmen to begin active fundraising, and those same names are part of the Hartford District minutes a few years later. Two years later, the ZOA appointed Abraham Goldstein as the paid director of the Connecticut Zionist Region or Bureau. Goldstein, intelligent and highly gifted as an orator, led the local ZOA activities to stunning success. According to Making a Life, Building a Community by David G. Dalin and Jonathan Rosenbaum, Goldstein was largely responsible for organizing Hartford into one of the most active and influential local districts in the United States. After Goldstein left the employment of the ZOA for a job in insurance, he continued to volunteer for the ZOA, becoming a national leader. One of the highlights in local ZOA history was the visit to Hartford in 1921 by Chaim Weizmann, later President of Israel, and Albert Einstein. The purpose of the visit was to raise funds for the Keren Hayesod (Palestine Restoration Fund) that Weizmann, as head of the World Zionist Organization, championed in opposition to the leaders of the national ZOA, who felt that Palestine should be developed through private investment, not public philanthropy. Local ZOA leaders supported Weizmann's view, however, and gave to the Keren Hayesod wholeheartedly. The Hartford ZOA purchased a house at 621 Albany Avenue in 1926 and used it as their office until selling it in 1933.

The collection consists of correspondence, printed material, and photographs relating to the history of Zimbabwe and current political, economic, and social conditions.

The Center for the Arts (CFA) gallery was renamed the Ezra [Wesleyan class of 1947] and Cecile Zilkha Gallery in the fall of 1982 in honor of a gift from The Zilkha Foundation, Inc. The Gallery features contemporary art installations as well as faculty and student work.

Chiefly correspondence, also includes manuscripts submitted, and some publicity material associated with the Ziesing Brothers Book Emporium, located in Willimantic, CT.

The collection consists of material created by or relating to José María Chacón y Calvo, which was accumulated by Zenaida Gutiérrez-Vega in the course of her research on the life and work of the Cuban-born literary critic and academic. Material includes original and copies of correspondence received by Chacón y Calvo from various Cuban, Spanish, and Latin American poets and writers; original manuscripts, typescripts, photocopies, and clippings of writings by Chacón y Calvo; an annotated typescript of Chacón y Calvo's diaries dating from 1917 to 1918; research files containing manuscripts, notes, letters, and printed material relating to other writers (possibly compiled by either Chacón y Calvo or Gutiérrez-Vega); original and photocopies of photographs of Chacón y Calvo; and other material.

The papers consist of business correspondence, literary manuscripts, radio scripts, and some translations of Němeček's works. The bulk of the collection documents his broadcasts which covered Czechoslovakian history, politics, economics, and literature. Němeček also spoke on refugees.

The collection consists chiefly of correspondence and writings relating to Zbigniew Herbert from 1968-1989. There is personal and professional correspondence with Polish literary and cultural figures, publishers, translators and scholars. Noteworthy correspondents include Stanislaw Baranczak, Jozef Czapski, Gustaw Herling-Grudzinski, Konstanty Jelenski, Alina Kalczynska, Susan Sontag, Jacek Trznadel, Petar Vujicic and Adam Zagajewski. Writings include holograph and typescript drafts of essays and poems in the collections Martwa natura z wedzidlem and Elegia na odejscie respectively.

The collection contains writings and correspondence of American writer Zane Grey.

The collection consists of printed material and photographs relating to political, economic, and social conditions in Zambia.

The papers contain bills and receipts, daybooks, estate papers, invoices, and other materials documenting the life of a Boston silversmith.

The Yves Tanguy Collection is composed of exhibition catalogs, exhibition announcements, publications featuring Tanguy's work, and photographs of Tanguy's artwork.

Letters and manuscripts to and from Yung Wing, the first Chinese student to graduate from Yale (1854). Also included are electrostatic copies of all the Yung Wing material from other collections in Manuscripts and Archives and Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, as well as three unfilmed additions of correspondence from Mary Kellogg Yung, wife of Yung Wing, with Jane Bartlett Kellogg, her sister, and Mary Bartlett Kellogg, her mother. Exhibit panels, printed material, and audiovisual items pertaining to Yung Wing complete the papers.

The papers consist of professional files; genealogical materials; photographs and memorabilia; and writings and translations documenting Yung Kwai's participation in the Chinese Educational Mission, his diplomatic career with the Chinese Legation, as well as his personal life.

At the time of its formation in 1866, the Hartford Association was one of the earliest Associations for young women in America, and the first community social agency in Hartford.

The Young Men's Republican Club was Wesleyan's first Republican political organization. It was founded on June 21, 1856, with the goal of aiding in the election of John C. Fremont to the presidency of the United States. A significant number of Wesleyan students were vocal supporters of the Republican Party in the early years, and much of their rhetoric centered on their opposition to slavery in Kansas.

Correspondence, a diary, and collected materials document medical and educational work in China. Mason Pressly Young M.D., his wife Louise, and his sister Lois were Southern Presbyterian missionaries in China from 1916 to 1949. Mason and Louise were stationed in Soochow where Mason worked at Elizabeth Blake Hospital. Lois was in charge of the Mary Thompson Stevens School for Girls in Suchowfu, North China.

Minutes of meetings, financial and legal records, and correspondence of the York Square Trustees, organized in 1834 to maintain a park between Broadway and Ashmun Street in New Haven, Connecticut. Many of the papers document the Trustees' losing battle to maintain the park against the city of New Haven, the Hebrew Ladies' Orphan Society, and other institutions wishing to build on the land.

This collection includes papers, photographs, and moving films that document the internment of Japanese American Yonekazu Satoda at the Jerome Relocation Center in Arkansas, 1942-1945, as well as his military service with the United States Army in Japan, 1946-1948. Additional material documents other aspects of his life, especially his education as an accountant, as well as correspondence with friends and businesses.

Documentation in this collection provides insight into the changing character of YMCA concerns. Extensive files of correspondence, minutes, and reports document the daily administrative routines of the executive secretary office, policy questions and the development of the Student Division. Topical files contain material on disarmament, work with Black students, preparatory school work, recruiting and training efforts, the Universal Day of Prayer and voluntary study. Documentation on regional and local association activities, pamphlet and periodical publications and photographs are also included. The Student Department of the YMCA, established in 1877, was involved in religious work among college and university students. Its headquarters were located in New York, with member associations on campuses throughout the United States.

A collection of twenty-five posters documenting Yiddish theater in Argentina and Poland during the years 1917-1958. Most posters feature the work of Yiddish poet, writer, editor and playwright Nechemia Zucker. The collection also contains a folder of newspaper clippings, advertisements, title pages, journals, and works written or edited by Nechemia Zucker.

The Yehuda Amichai Papers consist of correspondence, manuscripts, journals, photographs, printed material, audio-visual and other materials documenting the life and work of Israeli poet Yehuda Amichai.

Principals in this collection are the Yates family of Schenectady, New York, the Delancy family and James Duane (1733-1797) and his descendants. The major part of the papers is made up of financial and legal papers relating to land transactions in New York state between the 1760s and the 1820s. Included are leases, rent receipts, boundary agreements, survey field books, account books and charts. Most of the correspondence consists of letters from Yates family members to their land agent, Charles Fuller. Of these, approximately fifty were written by Ann Elizabeth Delancy Yates, widow of Joseph Christopher Yates, governor of New York state. Other correspondents are James Duane and his descendants and members of the Delancy family.

The materials consist of meeting minutes documenting the activities of the Yale Women's Coordinating Council.

The records consist of clippings, reports, and correspondence documenting the Yale Women's Action Committee study of sexual and gender harassment at Yale. Also includes a report and newsclipping concerning sexual harassment at Harvard.

The records consist of minutes, including minutes of the Newcomer's Club, newsletters, annual reports, program records, correspondence, and printed materials documenting the activities of the Yale University Women's Organization.

The materials consist of audiotapes, a videotape, transcripts, and project and background files relating to "One Story, Many Voices: An Oral History of the Yale University Women's Organization."

The collection contains papers of the Medical Institution of Yale College (Yale University School of Medicine) including correspondence, committee reports, financial reports, and memorials to the Yale Corporation, especially during the period when Charles A Linsdley served as Dean (1863-1885).

The materials consist of photographs documenting the Yale bicentennial celebration. Includes photographs of the decorated campus and New Haven streets, miscellaneous student groups in costume, and the Bicentennial Parade.

The records document the work of the Tercentennial Office. Included are the records of Janet Lindrer concerning planning of the tercentennial celebration, correspondence, subject files, video recordings, records of the Tercentennial Planning Committee, and the Tercentennial website. Also included is a poem by John Hollander, a speech by Robin Winks, printed material, news clippings, memorabilia commemorating Yale's 300th anniversary, and records for the Tercentennial celebration in Asia.

The records consist of promotional material, correspondence, lease and license agreements, project records and memorabilia documenting the publication of The Chronicles of America and Chronicles of America Photoplays by the Yale University Press.

The records consist of documentation on the publication of works by individual authors. Josef Albers, Hiram Bingham, Harold Bloom, Ernst Cassirer, David Lloyd George, and Paul Rand are just a few of the authors with works documented in this collection.

The records contain setting copies and proofs for works published by the press from 1919 through 1964 for many well-known twentieth century authors. Materials relating to multiple titles dating from the 1950s can be found, for example, for Gertrude Stein and Eugene O'Neill. Works can also be found for a number of authors affiliated with the University either as students or faculty. Many of the early titles in the collection were published as part of the Yale Series of Younger Poets. These authors include: Alfred Bellinger, the publisher John Chipman Farrar, John Hollander, Victor Starbuck, Viola Chittenden White, Amos Niven Wilder, and Wayland Wells Williams.

The records consist of letterbooks, correspondence, gift accounts, financial papers, receipts, lists, and memoranda documenting the operations of the Yale University Press. Included are the files of John G. Ryden as director.

The records consist of the first campus police report logs and register of Willis G. Wiser and a policies and procedures manual documenting the Yale Police Department.

The collection consists of eight videotaped recordings of Native American alumni of Yale University, recorded in November 2005 and November 2008, as well as paperwork documenting the project and its purpose. Interview subjects are asked to reflect on their student experiences at Yale University. Questions explore the interview subject's tribal background, experiences at Yale, college activities, perceptions of the University, and present employment. Each interview is conducted by an identified Native American undergraduate. Two recordings of events held during the 2005 Henry Roe Cloud Conference: A Celebration of Native Americans at Yale are also present.
Running time of recordings ranges from twenty to thirty-five minutes.

The materials consist of photographs of Army and Navy Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC and NROTC), Signal Corps, Yale Batteries, and Civil Affairs Training program activities at Yale during World War I and World War II. Includes images of drilling instruction, exercises, and artillery practice. There are a few photographs of Yale students during the Spanish-American War.

The collection consists of over 300 individual MFA theses in photography from 1971 to the present.

The materials consist of notes, maps, letters, studies, and samples documenting the buildings and grounds of the Yale campus with regard to long range planning.
