Collections

The collection consists of souvenir performance programs, the majority of which document anniversary or other special performances of individual actors, theatrical productions, theatres, and theatrical production companies in the United States and Great Britain.

The papers document the lives and careers of members of a prominent Florentine family, the Spinelli, and several related families.

Collection of photographs and printed materials relating chiefly to film and television productions of work by John Steinbeck.

The collection consists of tankas, which are Buddhist scrolls or fabric temple banners, chiefly Tibetan, but also Nepalese, Bhutanese, Indian and Chinese, which bear religious images, circa 1600-circa 1950. Some tankas also bear inscriptions on their versos.

The China Records Project Miscellaneous Personal Papers Collection is an open collection. It currently contains material from more than 325 individuals, primarily Protestant missionaries to China. The time period covered is approximately from 1834 to 1998. The China Records Project was initiated by the National Council of Churches of Christ in the U.S.A in 1968. The aim of the project was to insure the preservation of the personal records of former missionaries to China and to provide a central repository where these papers would be available to historians. The Yale Divinity School Library was chosen as this central repository in 1969 and has continued to solicit and accept China-related papers since that time.

This collection contains article-length publications and unpublished papers by Yale faculty, primarily from the Divinity School. These writings have been gathered into the collection in order to provide a consolidated repository for the works of Yale Divinity School faculty, past and present. This is not a comprehensive collection but rather consists of writings that have been given to the library by current or past Yale faculty members.

The Miscellaneous Personal Papers record group is an open collection consisting of the correspondence, diaries, writings and/or other papers and memorabilia of various individuals. This collection contains papers of individuals who were Yale faculty members, alumni/ae, clergy, ecumenical workers, or missionaries in areas other than China.

Record Group 33 is an open collection composed primarily of printed material from the institutions represented. This collection includes records from religious educational institutions in the United States and Canada, dating from 1808 to 1974.

This collection contains publications of primarily American and British organizations, societies, conferences, and councils. The publications provide primary source documentation of organizations that focused on a wide variety of issues, ranging from sabbath observance to tract and Bible distribution to support of widows to religious education to ecumenical programs, etc.

The theses in Series I (1939-1956) were submitted to YDS for a variety of degree programs. The theses in Series II (1975-1982) and those available in microfiche format in Series III (1975-2020) were submitted for the S.T.M. degree at Yale Divinity School. Series IV contains additional theses that have some Yale connection. The theses in this collection are mostly from Yale Divinity School, but some theses related to Yale or its collections are also included.
