Collection of satirical engravings by Robert Dighton, James Gillray, James Sayers, and C. Williams. The prints are primarily devoted to political satire; and the subjects include John Bull; taxes; French sympathies in Great Britain; George III's reaction to the Catholic Bill; the Broad-Bottomites in the Cabinet; and the public orator William Crowe. Titles include "A noble Lord, on an approaching peace, too busy to attend to the expenditure of a million of the public money"; "Doublures of characters, or striking resemblances in physiognomy"; "An ex minister training a terrier at Bowood"; and "All the talents upset or the highmettled Hanoverian grown restive." Several of the prints have been hand-colored.

This subgroup is comprised of volumes of Engrossed Bills. Engrossed Bills are those legislative acts and resolutions that having been passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate are appropriately signed by the Engrossing Committee, Clerk of the Senate, President of the Senate, Clerk of the House, Speaker of the House, and the Governor.

The papers contain personal and professional correspondence and other papers, including a scrapbook, which document Bagnold's personal life and writing career.

The collection contains the records and printed ephemera of The Enlightenment Society which was an organization of alumni, parents, and friends whose membership provided financial support for the University of Hartford.

Letters to Enoch Fitch Burr of Lyme, Conn., Yale 1839, clergyman, author, and lecturer on religion and science. The Reverend Dr. Burr was a direct descendant of Nathaniel Burr of Fairfield, Conn., a brother of Jehue Burr from Aaron Burr, the vice-president, was descended. Correspondents include William Cullen Bryant, Horace Bushnell, James Dwight Dana, William Gladstone, Mark Hopkins, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Denison Olmsted, and Theodore Dwight Woolsey. The correspondence consists mostly of routine acknowledgements and letters of introduction.

Correspondence relates to Hale's roles as minister, father, educator, Secretary of the General Association of Congregational Churches and Ministers of Massachusetts, and Secretary of the Hampshire Missionary Society. Diaries contain brief daily entries describing the weather, notable activities and events, sermons written and preached, town meetings attended, marriages performed, visitors received, journeys taken and chores performed. Also included is information regarding births and deaths in Westhampton. The diaries provide fifty years of consistent and valuable documentation of the daily activities of a Congregational minister in a small New England town. Notes and memoranda reflect Hale's interest in politics, his administrative and ministerial duties, and Biblical studies. Over 1200 sermons with indexes are included. Enoch Hale, born in Coventry, Connecticut on October 28, 1753, was the brother of the famed Nathan Hale. He graduated from Yale College in 1773 and served as a Congregational clergyman in Westhampton, Massachusetts from 1778-1828. He also served as Secretary of the General Association of the Congregational Churches and Ministers of Massachusetts from 1804-1824, and was Secretary of the Hampshire Missionary Society for many years. He was involved in the educational and public interests of his community and represented Westhampton in the State Constitutional Convention of 1820. He died on January 19, 1837.

The Enrico Batelli Papers consist primarily of manuscript scores and parts for Batelli's original musical compositions and arrangements of music by other composers. The papers also contain manuscript and printed music by other composers, including several by Batelli's teacher, Paolo Serrao, plus a small number of biographical materials.
