The papers are composed of letters addressed to Edward Clark Streeter from Fielding H. Garrison and others.

Correspondence, memoranda, notes, and drawings record Herrick's work in astonomy and entomology, particularly his observations on the Aurora Borealis and the Hessian fly. Prominent scientists among his correspondents include Louis Agassiz, James D. Dana, Thaddeus William Harris, Elias Loomis, Lambert Adolphe Jacques Quetelet, William C. Redfield, Samuel H. Scudder, Benjamin Silliman, Benjamin Silliman Jr., and William Tully. His career as librarian of Yale College (1843-1858) is reflected in catalogues, invoices, and memoranda relating to book purchases for the library. Between 1847 and 1862 he also supervised the publication of the triennial catalogues for Yale College and memoranda concerning these are also in the papers. His financial and legal files contain both personal records and account books (1835-1844) for the booksellers' firm of Herrick and Noyes, of which he was a partner. Also included are papers relating to New Haven including minutes of committee meetings, reports and correspondence on the Bicentennial (1838).

Edward Cosier (1865-1930) was an employee of the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad for over 40 years.

The papers consist of correspondence, research notes, bibliographies and photographs, principally relating to Edward Tabler's interest in the early history of South Africa and Rhodesia. Over half the letters to Tabler relate to his research and his correspondents include not only other scholars, but also the descendants of early explorers and settlers. These letters contain considerable substantive information, several illustrated with hand-drawn maps of southern Africa. Others discuss the political changes in Rhodesia (circa 1950-1970) from the point of view of the white minority. His research material includes typed transcriptions of nineteenth century South African diaries and manuscripts, his own notebooks and photographs, a bibliography of his writings, and biographical information.

The E.C. Dahl Papers provided documentation of the life and work of a YDS graduate who was a Congregational minister. They contain correspondence, biographical materials, sermons, publications, and pastoral materials. Edward C. Dahl was ordained by the Congregational Church in 1941, and served churches in Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Wisconsin, New York, and New Hampshire. He authored numerous articles and sermons in various ministry publications, including Pulpit, Pulpit Digest, Church Educatorand Advance. He died in 1993, survived by his wife, daughter Mary and sons Christopher and Edward.

The papers consist of correspondence, subject files, articles, speeches, book reviews, and material on the Yale School of Drama, including Cole's course notes, production notes, reports, financial papers and slides of productions. The subject files are of particular interest for the material from the early days of television, ca. 1948. Cole's work as a theater consultant is shown in the blue prints and other material prepared for theaters in Dresden, Malmo, Philadelphia and Stanford.
