The records consist of student records maintained by the dean of Davenport College, Yale University.

The collection documents, primarily through correspondence, the Evita and Levi B. Davenport family. It includes 420 autograph and typescript letters, signed, addressed to members of the Davenport family, 1907-1964, undated. Many of the letters are between Evita Davenport and her husband, Levi B. Davenport, her mother, Eva M. Rait, and her son, Lee Davenport, Jr. Matters discussed primarily focus on Evita Davenport's family and social life in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Goldfield, Nevada; and San Francisco, California. Multiple letters are accompanied by fabric swatches and dried flowers. Later letters are from Lee Davenport, Jr. to his parents and document his military service. There are also letters written from Lucile Frank Reuben to Lee Davenport, Jr. during this time. Included in the collection are family papers, pertaining to both Levi B. Davenport and Lee Davenport, Jr., comprised of invoices, receipts, and certificates, 1923-1965, undated. There are also 41 photographs of people and places (mostly unidentified), circa 1860-1955, undated. Other papers include newspaper clippings; auditor's notices signed by J. H. Cogswell of Ipswich, Massachusetts; a land survey; a bank statement; food labels; and miscellaneous materials; 1842-1957, undated.

Davida Blakeslee was born in Thomaston, Connecticut in 1910, and was a 1929 graduate of Danbury Normal School. She received her B.S. from Teachers College of Connecticut at New Britain in 1958, and her Master of Education from the University of Hartford in 1961. She taught in public schools for more than 30 years. This collection is comprised of a scrapbook she made as a keepsake for her time at the Danbury Normal School.

The collection contains materials relating to Katz's publication You can be a woman engineer published in 1995, sixth in his "You can be a woman..." series.

The papers include speeches, office files, videotapes, and other materials that document Kessler's tenure as commissioner of the United States Food and Drug Administration, particularly his role in the campaign to regulate nicotine as a controlled substance. The collection also contains interviews of tobacco company executives, government officials, researchers, and other individuals that Kessler conducted in the course of writing his book A Question of Intent.

The papers consist of correspondence, topical files and photographs. Correspondence and topical files document David Hunter's attempts to prove that his post-war illnesses were service-related and to gain compensation. The photographs are of the Far East during World War II.

Slides of images taken by David A. Poirier in the years he served as Staff Archaeologist for the Connecticut State Historic Preservation Office, including images of the Prudence Crandall House in Canterbury, Newgate Prison in East Granby, Gungywamp Site in Groton, and of the state's prehistoric, historic and industrial sites, highway and railroad bridges, and lighthouses. Also includes writings on various archaeology topics, for which Mr. Poirier is author, co-author or editor.

The papers consist of personal materials, correspondence, compiled family letters, clippings, subject and writing files, photographs, Vietnam protest memorabilia, and audiovisual materials that document David Mixner's life as a gay male, leader in the gay rights movement, author, and political consultant and advisor. There is also a manuscript of the Mixner family genealogy by Patricia Mixner Annison, David's sister; addenda/errata to the family genealogy; get well cards and photographs of David Mixner circa 1950s-1960s.

The papers include correspondence, teaching files, lecture notes, writings, research files, program files, personal papers, and student recommendations of David Brion Davis, historian and professor of history at Cornell University, 1955-1969 and Yale University, 1969-2001.
