Collections

The collection contains incomplete runs of over 70 underground comix titles. Materials are acquired irregularly and have been integrated into the Alternative Press Collection.

The commencement orations given by 19th century Wesleyan students reflect their studies in classics and their interests in philosophy, literature, and politics.

The Commissioners of Steamship Terminals were empowered, in addition to general liaison assistance in the promotion of water transportation and port development throughout the state, specifically to acquire, own, construct, maintain and operate docks, piers, terminals, equipment, warehouses, etc. "or any other appropriate harbor facilities" in New London, Waterford, Groton, Stonington, Ledyard, Preston, Montville and Norwich.

The Jamestown Tercentennial Exposition was held in Hampton Roads, Virginia, April 29 to November 30, 1907, to celebrate the three hundredth anniversary of the first English-speaking colony.

The Commission was appointed under a 1903 special act to plan and direct Connecticut's participation in the Exposition in St. Louis.

These papers document the "What is a Christian College?" Research Study Project conducted by the Commission on Christian Higher Education of the Association of American Colleges, in association with the National Council of Churches. The papers include workshop information, summaries of workshop results, research study progress reports from participating colleges, manuscripts of book chapters intended for publication, and correspondence regarding the research study, workshops, and manuscripts.
