The collection consists of Alan Hovhaness's letters to Judith Malina with accompanying notes, poems, photographs, and printed material. Two letters from Hovhaness to Malina's husband, Julian Beck, and a carbon copy of his response are also included.

The Alan Pryce-Jones papers consist of correspondence, manuscripts and printed versions of writings, family papers, diaries, financial papers, scrapbooks, photographs and other personal papers.
Series I., Correspondence, includes letters from literary colleagues and acquaintances, family, and friends. It documents Pryce-Jones's career as a writer and editor, including many substantive letters from other writers and editors about their work. It also documents his family history, family relationships, and his social life as a member of the English and European aristocracy and, later in life, of American high society. Major correspondents, beyond Pryce-Jones's immediate family, include the Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry and Sir John Betjeman, among many others. Some third-party correspondence is also present.
Series II., Writings, contains drafts and printed versions of Pryce-Jones's writings in many genres from throughout his long career. In addition to a large quantity of essays and reviews of literature, music, and theatre, the series includes juvenilia, novels, stories, memoirs, travel books, biographies, translations, poetry, plays, and libretti.
Series III., Photographs, contains a photograph album of childhood portraits, as well as snapshots and formal portraits of Pryce-Jones from childhood through his eighties. The series also contains images of his family and friends, including two groups of photos taken at the homes of W. Somerset Maugham and Cyril Connolly.
Series IV., Personal Papers, includes diaries, financial papers, family papers, and a few papers relating to Pryce-Jones's military work in MI14 during World War II and his brief political candidacy in 1939. It also includes files relating to renovation and restoration of Pryce-Jones's homes, particularly in Newport, and other personal papers such as address books and travel itineraries.

This collection encompasses accessions of single letters and small groups of letters and other manuscripts pertaining to the history of Alaska, which the library has chosen to group and list as an artificial collection. Letters and documents discuss travel in Alaska, interactions with Native Alaskans, the Alaska gold rush, the fur industry, surveying, business operations, and naval service. Also includes one photograph of the U.S.S. Pinta.

The papers contain correspondence, diaries, military papers, and other material documenting the military career of Albert Barnitz and Barnitz family life. The papers concern such subjects as cavalry operations, military life, relations between parents and children, and child rearing practices.

Collection of more than 500 letters, signatures, etc., of British statesmen, authors, scientists, etc.; Smith was employed by J. & J. Colman Ltd. at Norwich; members of the Colman family of Carrow House, Norwich, contributed significantly to this collection; many letters in these albums are addressed to Jeremiah James Colman (1830-1899), who was M.P. for Norwich from 1871-1895, or to his son-in-law James Stuart, P.C., M.P (1843-1913); other contributors to the collection were the Rev. Mr. Barrett of Norwich, and Timothy Cole (1852-1931); the collection is strong in liberal politicians and nonconformist clergy, and many of the letters concern activities in which Smith was interested and which took place in and around Norwich.

Chief topics in the letters are ecclesiastical affairs in the York diocese and affairs of Cambridge University.

The collection primarily consists of an album filled with drawings, prints, ephemera, and manuscript poems, letters, dedicatory inscriptions, and notes collected or created by John Charles Denham. The album contains 107 small drawings and sketches in graphite, ink, and watercolor by prominent British artists from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries such as Richard Parkes Bonington, John Flaxman, Sir Thomas Lawrence, Paul Sandby, J. M. W. Turner, and Benjamin West, as well as Denham's cohort in the Society of Young Painters: François Louis Thomas Francia, Thomas Girtin, Sir Robert Ker Porter, and Augustus Wall Callcott. Many of the drawings are signed but most are undated, and appear to have been added to the book between the early 1830s and the mid-1850s. Several bear small paper tags with references to unidentified "Old 'Water Colour' Society" volumes and folios. Among the drawings are portrait sketches of James Boswell, Maria Cosway, William Cowper, John Charles Denham, and Sarah Siddons, as well as the title character of Henry Mackenzie's novel Julia de Roubigné. The artist most prominently represented in the album is Sir Thomas Lawrence, with fifteen drawings, one etching, two letters, and a signature clipped from an unidentified document; the most prominent family represented is the painter/author Sir Robert Ker Porter and his sisters, the novelists Jane and Anna Maria Porter. Also present are watercolor landscapes by the wife and daughter of portrait painter Thomas Phillips and three members of the Batty family, and several drawings by Denham's young stepson Henry Thomas Hamilton (d.1813). Two drawings in the album have historically been attributed to Thomas Gainsborough and one to John Hamilton Mortimer.
