The collection documents the life and work of the American writer Zane Grey and his wife Dolly Grey, and to some extent the lives of their children. The papers chiefly consist of correspondence between Zane and Dolly Grey from the time they met until his death, circa 1900-1939. Their letters document Zane Grey's frequent travels throughout the American West and in the South Pacific, his career as a writer, their marriage, and the growth of their family. The collection also includes some correspondence with others; a draft of Zane Grey's autobiography; Dolly Grey's diaries; photographs and ephemera; and ten films. Many of the films apparently document hunting and fishing expeditions, but the collection also includes a print of the 1936 Australian film "White Death," in which Grey was featured as himself, and two documentaries about Zane Grey produced in 1985 by his family.

The Bismuth-Lemaître Papers is comprised of material created and compiled by Maurice Lemaître, documenting the Lettrism movement from its inception in 1945 to the present day and Lemaître's own cultural and political activities as a leader of the movement. According to Lemaître's wishes, the title of the collection incorporates his birth name in order to reflect his heritage.

The Blanche Matthias Papers consist of correspondence, reviews, poetry, short stories, clippings, photographs, diaries, scrapbooks and personal papers relating to Matthias's work and travels.

Correspondence consists principally of letters from Jean Giono to Blanche Meyer, along with several to her husband, Louis. The Manuscripts include notebooks and drafts of "Pour Saluer Melville", and "Faust au Village". Among the Other Papers are a group of letters from publishers requesting rights to Giono's works, clippings about Giono's life and work, and a number of photographs of Giono in his native Provence.

The papers consist of correspondence to and from members of the Bohna family in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The letters document daily life and family news of various members of the Bohna family (descendents of Christian Bohna), who were farmers, blacksmiths, and miners in Oregon and California (residing in, among other places, Kern County, California, and in Wasco and Clackamas Counties, Oregon). In addition to members of the Bohna family, principal correspondents include Spurrell W. Woody and other members of the Woody family, of Woody, California.

The collection consists of proofs and "first reader reports" that document a component of the selection process for titles that became Book-of-the-Month Club selections. The proofs are pre-publication copies of manuscripts, used by Book-of-the-Month Club judges to select titles. The reports comprise reviews by in-house editors and outside readers of manuscripts under consideration for publication. They were written by a wide variety of individuals including Rosemary Benet, Basil Davenport, Elizabeth Wynne Easton, Roger Pippett, John Sherry, Russell Thacher, Ralph Thompson, and Leon Wilson.

Receipts and short notes concerning the book trade in London in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Booksellers include Thomas Caddell, Thomas Longman, Thomas Lowndes, George Nicol, John Nourse, Paul Vaillant, Thomas Vernor, John Whiston, and John Wilkie. There is one long letter from Andrew Millar to David Mallet about the sales of Mallet's edition of the works of Henry St. John, Lord Viscount Bolingbroke.

The papers consist of Filippov's correspondence with Russian émigré literary figures and scholars, typescripts of Filippov's writings (poetry, prose, critical essays), materials for works edited by Filippov as well as writings by others not included in works edited by Filippov; and artwork by Serge Hollerbach for books edited by Filippov.

The Boris Kaufman Papers contain professional papers, correspondence, writings, and other material documenting the life and work of cinematographer Boris Kaufman, as well as film production and cinematographic practice in France and the United States during the middle decades of the 20th century.
