The Aaron Baker Clark and Sarah Booth Clark Papers consist of biographical sketches, diaries, photographs, correspondence, and clippings that pertain to the missionary efforts of Episcopal minister Aaron Baker Clark and his wife, Sarah Booth Clark, relating to the Lakota people of the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. Also present are printed dictionaries and hymns in the Lakota dialect, 1889-1901, and other printed books on topics such as religion, history, geography and poetry, 1671-1971. Materials in the collection span the dates 1671 to 1971, with the bulk falling between 1876 and 1925.

Autograph manuscript music, including symphonies and hymns, scores; arrangements of hymns and other choral music, scores and parts; a passion-play, score, with watercolor drawings of curtain and stage designs; and notebooks containing music sketches and related notes about music and Christianity. An oversize rolled sheet contains unidentified ink and watercolor drawings.

The A. B. Guthrie Jr. Papers document the life and literary career of A. B. Guthrie Jr., known for his Western novels and environmental writings. The papers span the dates 1901-1991.

Groups of photographs that document contemporary photographers, as well as individuals related to the study of photography, 1982-2007; street photography in the San Francisco Bay Area, circa 1981-2009; and portraits of individuals involved in the arts, letters, and sciences, as well as views in the American West, 1982-2017.

The Abraham Hayward Collection consists of correspondence, printed materials, photographs, and other papers related to Abraham Hayward (1801-1884), a London essayist and translator, as well as the research papers of Brian Roberts, who started but abandoned a biography of Hayward in the 1950s. The papers, which span the years 1791-1962, are stored in seven boxes (including 3 oversize), and are organized into five series: Correspondence, Printed Materials, Other Papers, Photographs, and Brian Roberts Research Materials. The papers document Hayward's familial relations, the literary and political circles of mid-nineteeth century London, and a controversy involving Hayward and the Inner Temple.

This finding aid encompasses accessions of single manuscripts and small groups of manuscripts and other papers, by or pertaining to Abraham Lincoln, which the library has chosen to group and list as an artificial collection. Material has been organized into two series: I, Gift of A. Conger Goodyear and II, Additional Materials, materials acquired from various sources.

The Abraham Lincoln Fellows Papers contain correspondence, family papers, subject files, and photographs documenting aspects of the life and career of Abraham Lincoln Fellows. The papers span the dates 1873-1974, but the bulk of the material dates from between 1900 and 1910.

Correspondence and other documents signed by circa 200 members of the Académie française, 1637-1926 and undated, assembled by an unidentified collector, possibly American autograph collector Howes Norris, Jr. (1867-1938), of Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts. Most are autograph letters, signed; other contents include literary writings, legal documents, and a few documents concerning administration of the Académie française. Many are accompanied by descriptions from vendor catalogs, engraved portraits, clippings, or notes of former owners. Correspondence includes an autograph letter, signed, from Alexis de Tocqueville to Robert Walsh, consul general of the United States in Paris, 1845 June 10. Documents relating to Maurice Donnay and Albert, comte de Mun, include signatures on printed cards identified as "The autograph collection of Howes Norris, Jr."
